On tuesday the 22nd of August 2017 we organised a small gathering in Vellaveli, this together with different stakeholders as part of the handing of the water connections to the community. Which is part of the Water Supply and Hygiene Promotion Project 2017 which is funded by Berendina and implemented by PALM Foundation.
A total of 1800 water connections have been made in the Vellaveli Division, Batticaloa District, Sri Lanka.
The vice president of the school, where the event was held and where also a water connection was installed, opened the event proudly.
A lot of children took the time to take part in the event, as they are very happy that they have a piped water connection at their school now.

A large water connection unit was officially opened at the government school in Vellaveli. Here some schoolboys are enjoying some fresh and clean water.
